Region play takes center stage this week for several county teams, including defending state champion Oakland facing Siegel at home.
On paper, it looks like a mismatch as the Patriots are off to a 2-0 start, while Siegel is 0-2.
Oakland defeated Kenwood 86-14 last week, while Siegel dropped a 20-7 decision at Page.
"It's a rivalry game, no doubt about it," Oakland coach Kevin Creasy said. "Coach (Michael) Copley will have his guys prepared, I know that.
"It's one of those things where it's a region game, and it's more important than our first two. Region play is where it's at. I'm sure Siegel we'll be ready for us and we'll have to be well prepared. Unfortunately, we haven't played four quarters. I don't know how good of condition we're in because a lot of our guys have only play a quarter and a half or two quarters. I'm sure we'll have to play four quarters this week."
Siegel has been its own worst enemy the first two week as turnovers and penalties have led to its demise.
"My goodness, you do that against (Oakland) -- they scored 86 points last week -- and you better limit your mistakes because they don't need any help because of the way they're doing things," Copley said. "I've got a lot of respect for coach Creasy and his staff. They do a great job.
"For us we've got to be prepared. If we don't take care of ourselves and worry about what we're doing, we're not going to get any better and we're not going to have a chance to be successful."
Stewarts Creek will look to improve to 3-0 when it travels to Clarksville.
"When you get patted on your back and people how good you are, you tend to start believing it," first-year Stewarts Creek coach Bert Browne said. "I'm excited for the kids, but as a head coach as far as I go I'm always thinking about that next one."
In other games involving county teams on Friday, Blackman travels to Coffee County, Rockvale is at Warren Co., La Vergne visits Antioch, Riverdale travels to Cookeville, Smyrna is at John Overton, Eagleville hosts Forrest and MTCS hosts Chattanooga Howard.
