Riverdale will look to move to 3-0 and notch its first region victory of the season when Warriors travel to Cookeville Friday.
The Warriors are coming off an impressive 34-10 win at Franklin, and a road victory this week will position them nicely in the region race.
Although it's just one game, it should be pivotal one in terms of seeding for the playoffs.
Here are the picks:
Riverdale (2-0) at Cookeville (0-2): It's always a tough trip to Cookeville, but the Warriors have played outstanding on both sides of the ball, while the Cavaliers have struggled out of the gates. Pick: Riverdale 35, Cookeville 14.
Siegel (0-2) at Oakland (2-0): Siegel was plagued by turnovers at Page last week, which doesn't bode well against the Patriots. Oakland has outscored its opponents 145-14 the first two weeks, and this one could get out of hand early if the Stars don't play a near-perfect game. Pick: Oakland 55, Siegel 7.
Blackman (0-2) at Coffee County (0-2): The home team is in big trouble this week. The Blaze are coming off a tough 16-13 loss to Ravenwood, and Coffee County will be the perfect elixir for their woes on Friday night. Pick: Blackman 52, Coffee County 7.
Rockvale (0-2) at Warren County (1-1): Rockvale might take its lumps this season, but the Rockets have shown they can move the football and put up points. It's Rockvale's first-ever region game, and the hunch is the Rockets are in for a fun night. Pick: Rockvale 42, Warren County 40.
Stewarts Creek (2-0) at Clarksville (1-1): Stewarts Creek obviously didn't have a letdown after beating Mt. Juliet Week 1 as it smoked Antioch 69-6 last Friday. Clarksville has played solid defense thus far, but has scored just 39 points. Pick: Stewarts Creek 35, Clarksville 10.
La Vergne (1-1) at Antioch (0-2): The Wolverines showed promise even in losing to Rossview 33-26 last week. It shouldn't matter on Friday as Antioch has been outscored 132-12. Pick: La Vergne 38, Antioch 7.
Smyrna (0-2) at John Overton (0-2): Both teams have obviously struggled. Smyrna has averaged just 12 points a game, while Overton has averaged 17 a game. Pick: John Overton 21, Smyrna 17.
Forrest (2-0) at Eagleville (2-0): It's a key region game for both teams. Eagleville has allowed just 14 points a game, while Forrest is average 38.5. It's a tough one to call. Pick: Forrest 28, Eagleville 23.
Howard (1-1) at MTCS (0-2): MTCS has played a tough schedule (White House Heritage and Friendship Christian) and Howard is certainly an unknown opponent. Pick: Howard 38, MTCS 34.
Last week: 9-1; Season 15-4
