The Siegel Stars repeated as girls champions at the 19th annual Murfreesboro Invitational at Champions Run Golf Course on Monday.

Jessica Hoeft, now a senior, was again consistent as she shot a 2-over par 74, the same score she shot last year in the victory and for her second straight low medalist at the event.

Hoeft began on the back nine and ran into trouble on the 18th hole and finished with a triple bogey. Nevertheless, she still posted an impressive 2-over par.

“I missed my approach and it went right and into the water,” Hoeft said. “I had to drop from there. I got on the green and two putted for the triple bogey.”

Regan Warren, a freshman in her first high school outing shot a 92.

“For a freshman she did well for her first time out,” Siegel coach Dallas Hill said. Hoeft would have been under par had she not had that (triple) bogey on 18, but sometimes that is golf.”

On the boys side, Brentwood shot an even-par 288 as three of its golfers went under par as Bryce Callaway, Sam Johnson and Nolan Griggs all carded 2-under 70s.

The top boys team in Rutherford County was Oakland as it shot a 321. Carter Stephens led the Patriots with a 77, followed by Jake Garland with a 78 and Jordan Phillips with a 79.

Rockvale’s Ardan Sinclair shot 76 and the Rockets finished fourth at 322. Blackman’s Lofton McRee carded a 77. Oakland’s Emma Clonan also shot 76.

“I had a few bogeys but had three birdies in a row on holes 9,10, 11 that helped,” Clonan said. “I could have done better, but I had a good attitude and tried to do my best.”

Webb School’s and Nolensville boys finished second at 307, followed by Oakland, Rockvale, Siegel, Blackman, Central Magnet,, MTCS, Riverdale and Stewarts Creek.

Nolensville’s girls finished second, followed by Oakland, Brentwood, Blackman, Central Magnet, Rockvale, Stewart Creek and Webb.
