Mt. Juliet 3, Oakland 0

MURFREESBORO — Mt. Juliet improved to 11-8 on the season with a 3-0 road win at Oakland High Monday, Sept. 16 Scores: 25-16, 25-15 and 25-10.

Carson Van Hoven paced the front line with 10 kills (and three aces) while Devon Smotherman finished with 12 digs.

Krista Martin had seven blocks, Allie Brady 25 assists and Devon Smotherman three aces.

Watertown 3, Macon County 2

LAFAYETTE — Watertown’s volleyball team needed five sets to dispose of a stubborn Macon County squad Monday by a 3-2 score. Scores: 25-15, 23-25, 23-25, 25-16 and 15-13.

With the win, Watertown improved to 13-3 on the season headed into a 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 match at Westmoreland High.

Natalie Fountain was a monster at the net with 29 kills.

Brookelyn Davis added 15 kills, 15 digs and 29 assists while Mikayla Nix scored 12 kills.

Sydney Murrell recorded 43 digs while Alie Tunks chipped in with 24.

Mackailyn Cherry passed out 35 assists, with four service assists and two digs.

Lebanon 3, LaVergne 0

Lebanon’s volleyball team improved to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in District 9-AAA following a 3-0 home sweep over LaVergne Thursday, Sept. 12. Scores: 25-10, 25-17 and 25-12.

The Lady Devils were led by Olivia Carver with 10 kills, two aces and three digs. Addie Grace Porter recorded 19 digs, an assist and three kills while Erin Gallatin served eight aces and piled up six digs.

Avery Harris scored nine kills and three digs while Kendall Arnold recorded 23 assists, two digs, two aces and three kills.

Lebanon returns to action Thursday, Sept. 19 with a 6 p.m. home match against district rival Smyrna.

Mt. Juliet 3, Smyrna 0

SMYRNA — Mt. Juliet moved 10-8 on the season and 3-2 in District 9-AAA following a 3-0 win at Smyrna Thursday, Sept. 12. Scores: 25-15, 25-16 and 25-20.

Carson Van Hoven led the Lady Bears as she recorded a double-double with 19 digs and 10 kills.

Allie Brady dished out 30 assists, Devon Smotherman had 16 digs and Madison Pertuset served three aces.

Keeton Brown was strong at the net with five blocks.

Mt. Juliet is scheduled to travel to Cookeville Thursday, Sept. 19 for a 6 p.m. match with the Lady Cavs.

Cookeville 2, Wilson Central 1

Wilson Central’s volleyball team slipped to 8-2 on the season following a 2-1 home loss to Cookeville Tuesday, Sept. 10. Scores: 22-15, 19-25 and 15-25.

Sydney Dalton led the Lady Cats with five kills while Ally Knueven finished with four kills and seven digs. Taryn Wilson recorded 19 digs.

Wilson Central is set to play at LaVergne Thursday, Sept. 19 in a 6 p.m. match.
