Lebanon 52, Center Point (Ala.) 43

LEBANON — Junior guard Malcolm Logue knocked down 14-of-14 at the free throw line and finished with 25 points as Lebanon held off Center Point (Ala.) 52-43 Thursday, Dec. 27 in the opening round of the Sonic Slam Christmas Tournament at Campbell Brandon Gymnasium.

The Blue Devils broke open an 18-18 game at intermission and took a 34-27 lead after three periods.

Center Point trimmed the lead to just 47-43 until Logue scored 11 points in the closing minutes.

Jeremiah Hastings finished with 10 points, Jackson Stafford had 6, David Greene 5 while Gaven Reasonover and Zion Logue had 3 points each.

The Blue Devils improved to 9-5 headed into a second round game against Blackman High.

Stewarts Creek 49, Wilson Central 44

LEBANON — Wilson Central dropped into the consolation bracket of the Sonic Slam Christmas Tournament with a 49-44 loss to Stewarts Creek Thursday afternoon at Campbell Brandon Gym.

SCHS led 34-27 at intermission, then pushed the margin to 47-35 with a 13-8 third period run.

Caleb Lawrence drilled five 3-pointers to lead the Wildcats with 15 points.

Daniel Jackson added 14 while Tyler Hayes had 9 points and Jordan Beard 6.

Donovan Jackson paced Stewarts Creek with 16 points.

With the loss, WCHS moved into a Friday afternoon consolation bracket game.

Mt. Juliet 66, ML King 29

NASHVILLE — Senior Gavin Wilson connected on four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points as Mt. Juliet thumped Martin Luther King Magnet 66-29 in Thursday’s opening round of the Willie Brown ’65 Memorial Tournament at Father Ryan.

Will Pruitt added 14 points and seven assists while Gage Wells chipped in with 10 points. Riggs Abner had 8, Ryan McIntosh 6, Isaac Thomson and Zach Blair each scored two points; Jacob Burge and Bryan Aiken each scored one point.

With the win, the Golden Bears improved to 12-1 on the season headed into a Friday evening semifinal contest.

Watertown 62, REpublic 56

LEBANON — Watertown moved to 11-4 on the season following Thursday’s 62-56 victory over Nashville’s REpublic Charter School in the Friendship Christian Christmas Tournament at the Bay Family Sportplex.

The Purple Tigers trailed 13-11 after one quarter, but pulled ahead 29-24 at intermission.

RayQuan Verge paced Watertown with 14 points while Jared Tomson chipped in with 10 points, six assists and four steals.

Heath Price added nine points, seven rebounds and five steals; Brandon Allison and Griffin Creswell had 8 points apiece. Aidan Usher finished with 7, Nathan Fish 3, Elijah Williams 2 and Q. Hushes-Malone 1.

As a team, Watertown connected on 21-of-56 from the field (38 percent) and 17-of-25 from the line (68 percent).

With the win, the Purple Tigers are scheduled to play Monterey Friday at 4:30 p.m. in a second round game.
