Blackman football coach Kit Hartsfield has resigned to take the same position at Mt. Pleasant High School.
The former Riverdale High and Austin Peay standout coached the Blaze for three seasons and amassed aa 22-13 record, including a 10-2 mark in 2018.
"I want to think everyone in the Blackman family and the support for our program, from (Blackman principal) Dr. (Leisa) Justus and (athletic director) Mr. (Scott) Lawless," Hartsfield said. "I'm grateful to join the Mt. Pleasant community and lead their football program."
Blackman struggled this past season with a 4-7 record but still qualified for the TSSAA playoffs where they dropped a 30-21 decision to Hendersonville in the first round.
The search for Hartsfield's successor is already under way.
