2022 Main Street Preps All-Midstate girls soccer team

Main Street Preps has named its 2022 All-Midstate girls soccer team.

See below for superlative honors, the first and second teams, and honorable mention selections.

Player of the Year: Keaton Mitchell, CMF, Battle Ground Academy, Sr.

The University of Tennessee signee scored 30 goals and added 28 assists, providing 88 points on the season for the Division II-A state runner-up Wildcats.

Team of the Year: Page

No other Midstate team went unbeaten this season. While they finished with two draws, the Patriots enjoyed a dominant run to their second straight Class AA state title finishing 23-0-2.

Coach of the Year: Jason Bentley, Merrol Hyde

Bentley guided the Lady Hawks to their second consecutive Class A state title and a 20-2-1 record. He’s now 49-8-3 in the past three seasons.

All-Midstate First Team

Eva Schreiber (F, BGA, Sr.): The St. Louis University commitment scored 28 goals and added 18 assists for the Division II-A state runner-up Wildcats.

Mamie Carman (F, Lipscomb Academy, So.): She scored 18 goals and tallied 15 assists in the Mustangs’ run to the Division II-AA quarterfinals.

Maddie Padelski (F, Nolensville, So.): She scored 29 goals and added seven assists as the Knights reached a Class AAA sectional game.

Katie Shea Collins, (F, Pope Prep, Jr.): The South Carolina commitment scored 30 goals and tallied eight assists in 11 games, helping lead Pope Prep to the Division II-AA state quarterfinals. Nineteen of her goals and all eight assists came in seven region games.

Abby Thornton (MF, Page, Sr.): She was a star on one of the Midstate’s top teams. With nine goals and four assists, she claimed the District 11-AA MVP award for the third year in a row. She is signed with the University of North Alabama.

Ginny Cha (MF, Siegel, Sr.): She was the top midfielder (nine goals, seven assists) on a Lady Stars team that reached the Class AAA state semifinals.

Olivia Strong (MF, Gallatin, Fr.): She helped control the field for a Gallatin team that stunned many in its run to the Class AAA state tournament, upsetting Nolensville in a sectional.

Ayden Wood (F/MF, Station Camp, So.): She scored 20 goals and assisted 10 in Station Camp’s run to the Class AAA semifinals.

Olivia Prim (Def., Father Ryan, Sr.): A versatile player capable of scoring from the midfield, she was a key defender in Father Ryan’s run to the Division II-A quarterfinals. She scored eight goals and added six assists.

Avery Brown (Def., Franklin, Sr.): The Ole Miss signee led Franklin’s defense in the Admirals’ run to the regular-season District 11-AAA championship. 

Lexi Grundler (GK, Ravenwood, Sr.): The Michigan State commitment totaled 36 saves with six goals against, including five clean sheets.

All-Midstate Second Team

Ava Pomeroy (F, Nashville Chrisitan, Sr.): She scored a school-record 34 goals for the Lady Eagles and added nine assists.

Kristen DeSantis (F, Rossview, Jr.): She scored 30 goals and recorded 19 assists in 18 games to help Rossview reach a Class AAA sectional game.

Madison Bennett (F, West Creek, Jr.): The District 13-AAA Offensive MVP scored 48 goals and helped West Creek clinch a share of the district title.

Bekah Allen (F, Clarksville, So.): She scored 15 goals and added 14 assists to help Clarksville reach a Class AAA sectional game.

Mary McIllwain (MF, Merrol Hyde, Sr.): She scored 27 goals and added 16 assists on the Lady Hawks’ back-to-back Class A state championship team.

Gracie Segundo (F/MF, Page, Sr.): The Belmont signee was the second-leading scorer for the Class AA state champions with 14 goals and nine assists.

Reagan Tate (Def, Hendersonville, Sr.): The Murray State University signee won the District 10-AAA MVP award and helped Hendersonville allow just one goal per game.

Breahn Fisher (CM/D, Ensworth, So.): She was the top player (5 Goals, 4 in Division II-AA Middle Region play) on an Ensworth team that came one goal shy of reaching the state tournament for the first time since 2016. The Tigers lost 2-1 to eventual state runner-up Briarcrest in the state quarterfinals.

Shelby Clark (Def., Central Magnet, Sr.): She led the defense to 12 shutouts and added six goals and three assists for the Class AA state runner-up Lady Tigers.

Mary Wood (Def., Christ Presbyterian Academy, Sr.): The state-champion sprinter’s speed came in handy. Wood helped CPA have the lowest goals-against average in all seven Division II-AA Middle Region games.

Gabbie Rainey (GK, Page, Sr.): She held a 91.9% save percentage with 57 saves on 62 shots on goal. She also recorded a school-record 17 shutouts and allowed just one goal in nine playoff matches during Page’s unbeaten run to the Class AA title.

Juliet, Sr.), Bella Henderson (MF, Merrol Hyde, Jr.), Cece Szopa (GK, Nolensville), Leah Krugh (F, Oakland, So.), Reagan Vaughn (F, Page, Fr.), Leah Johnson (D/MF, Ravenwood, Sr.), (Mya Martin, GK, Rossview, So.), Mallorie Springs (F, Station Camp, So.), Camden Prosser (F, Stewarts Creek Sr.), Maddie York (CB, Valor College Prep, Fr.), Karla Montiel (CMF, Valor College Prep, Sr.), Katrina Young (CMF, Valor College prep, eighth).
