The MTSU women's basketball team's already strong recruiting class got even better on Friday when Northwest Florida State College standout Rellah Boothe signed with the Lady Raiders.
Boothe, from Bradenton, Fla., played at Texas her freshman season after being named the McDonald's All-American Game MVP in 2017. She was the No. 3 national recruit coming out of high school.
The 6-foot-3 forward averaged more than 27 points and nine rebounds a game in high school at IMG Academy. She averaged five points and more than three rebounds as a freshman at Texas. Boothe said lack of playing time at Texs weighed in her decision to transfer to Northwest Florida State for the upcoming season.
Boothe also was as member USA U18 National Team in 2016.
She is the second former McDonald's All-American to sign with MTSU for the 2019-20 class, joining former Riverdale and Tennessee standout Anastasia Hayes.
MTSU's recruiting class also includes Aislynn Hayes from Riverdale High school, Taylor Lewis, a 5-foot-10 small forward from Columbia, S.C., and Kiya Turner, a 5-foot-6 guard from Ponte Vedra, Fla.
