Hailey, Bowling Runners of the Year

Youth was certainly served, particularly at Rockvale as it was led by freshmen Lake Hailey and Leila Haley, who finished first and second in the region meet and in the top 15 in the state meet.

Leila Haley was the county’s top finisher (13th place) in the state meeting with a time of 19:18.67. For her efforts she is the cross country Runner of the Year.

Oakland’s Tate Bowling is the boys’ runner of the year as he was top boys’ finisher (25th) at the state meet in a time 16:40.68.

Stewarts Creek has two young promising runners as well in Bella King and Kylie Gray.

On the boys’ side, several seniors closed out careers and will head to Milligan University to continue their running careers. Four boys and one girls’ runner will head to Milligan in the fall.
