UT-Martin and former Oakland Patriot Wanya Moton was named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week after an outstanding game against Northwestern State last week.
The defensive back picked up his first OVC weekly honor after tallying seven tackles and a pair of interceptions. His interceptions came in big situations, tallying a 12-yard return in the second quarter before returning an interception for a touchdown with a 78-yard return in the fourth quarter to give the Skyhawks a two-score advantage.
While at Oakland, he finished his career with 90 tackles, five pass breakups, five interceptions and a fumble recovery. He was a starter for the 2016 Patriots team that went 14-1 and finished state runner-up.
