Eagleville volleyball beats Halls 3-0 to stay alive

Eagleville’s volleyball stayed alive at the TSSAA state tournament on Wednesday by sweeping Halls 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-21) in a match they dominated from start to finish.

“My kids know it is survival and advance time now,” Eagleville coach Deanna Freise. “We had good defense and that led to our offense.”

The serving of Hannah Hailey, Audrey Tribble and Meah Thompson paved the way as Tribble and Katelyn Roberts controlled things up front.

Roberts had four blocks through the first two sets of the match, and Tribble led Adelyn Dodd, the super sophomore, who will be catching the eyes of college coaches soon. She had four kills and a pair of aces.

Bella Bain had five kills and Roberts added four kills as Eagleville moved to 22-10 and will face North Greene in a loser’s bracket match at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Siegel. Eagleville would have to win two more matches after that at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to advance to Friday’s finals.
