Rutherford County produced three state champions and 10 other medalists at the TSSAA state individual wrestling championships in Chattanooga last week.
Blackman’s Justin Bradford, a runner-up last year, rolled to the 113-pound title, including defeating Cleveland’s Bentley Ellison in the championship round.
Eagleville’s Wyatt McLemore finished his prep career going back-to back. After winning the 160-pound class last year, he took home gold at 170 this year by defeating Kaden White of Moore County by pinfall in the finals.
Riverdale senior Monteria Bigsby won the girls’ 125-pound class, winning her first two matches by fall and defeating Independence’s Baylee Peterson in the championship.
Other medalists included: Gabriel Pennington, Eagleville, 3rd in 138 (A-AA class); Grace Elliott, Siegel, 3rd in 112 (girls class); Jennifer Pranouphong, La Vergne, 3rd in 119 (girls class); Chas Stokes, Oakland, 4th in 113; Connor Milhorn, Siegel, 4th in 195; Justin Brown, Oakland, 4th in 160; Mason Sells, Blackman, 5th in 126; Brody McLemore, Eagleville, 4th in 145 (A-AA class); Alex Rose, Blackman, 5th in 145; Graham Keating, Oakland, 5th in 285.
