The City of Murfreesboro Transportation Department has identified 3 Rover Bus routes for proposed changes and improvements to eliminate areas of low ridership as well as provide safer more sensible transportation on Rover. Some of these changes were part of the Operational Study conducted 2 years ago. These changes are proposed to take effect on March 2, 2020.

  1. The West Side Loop route will be refined and combined with our Old Fort route and become the “Mall District” route servicing Stones River Mall, The Avenues, and the Target area. It will also serve the common places our Riders like and need to go as we do now, such as the Social Security Office. It will utilize 2 existing buses and operate out of the current hub as opposed to the transfer we do now in the Gateway area behind Franklin Synergy.

  2. The Gateway route will be changed to eliminate repetitive travel and it will serve both sides of Broad St. from Medical Center to Thompson Ln. It will continue to service the St. Thomas and Medical Center areas.

  3. Both of these newly revamped routes will change from a Flag Stop route to designated stops only which we have carefully located in safe places to minimize interference to traffic flow.
