To the Editor:
In reference to your article about the state confirming two cases of questionable purchases by MTSU Athletics, how is this any different than the professors who require the students to purchase books where the author is the professor of the class they are taking?
My husband took volleyball in college, and his professor made the students buy his book for the class. This happens frequently.
I understand in your article the athletic department allegedly made the purchase; however, it seems this is no different than making the students buy the book for their classes. Those in charge are benefiting financially from the sales one way or the other.
