Non-profit organizations have been hit especially hard during the pandemic. Fundraisers were cancelled, volunteers were in quarantine and staff had to learn how to navigate a difficult and unprecedented situation.

Murfreesboro Rescue Mission addresses the issues of homelessness in Murfreesboro and the Rutherford County area. It provides for the immediate needs of the homeless through the Coldest Nights program in Murfreesboro. Coldest Nights is a temporary drop-in shelter for the homeless.

To maintain a clean, safe environment, the organization launders sheets and blankets every week at a cost of $200 per week. It needs both volunteers to help with these services and much needed donations for the laundry machines. It also needs 20 twin-size, wool blankets and 20 twin-size white sheets. Alive Hospice provides compassionate, end-of-life care, bereavement support and community education. It is the only non-profit hospice in the region and donations allow it to provide affordable grief support to all who need it, financial aid to patients and free education to the community.
