A mostly sunny and dry spell of weather will continue for the week ahead with afternoon highs climbing from the upper 40s to the mid-50s by Wednesday and Thursday.

I think cooler weather will come back by the middle of the month.

Last week brought the first winter weather of the season with 1 to 2 inches of snow over parts of Middle Tennessee. That was followed by temperatures dropping into the teens on Wednesday morning. There were many readings of 16 to 19 degrees

Remember the night of Dec. 13 and the early morning of Dec. 14 we will have the Geminid meteor shower. The best viewing time is just after midnight.

The Geminids is considered by many to be the king of the meteor showers.
