JEFFREY C. HENDRIX, 53, of Lascassas, TN peacefully left this earth in God’s loving embrace after a heroic battle with cancer on Thursday, May 12, 2011.Jeff was born in Dothan, AL and grew up in Daleville, AL. In 1979 he married his high school sweetheart, Geneva Kay Felter. Jeff began his career with the United States Air Force where he learned the fundamentals of electricity. From there he went on to a more than 20 year career with Pan American Electric, LLC. In 2004, he became part-owner and President of Enterprise Electric, LLC.He was an active member of Lascassas Baptist Church since 1989, where he served as Deacon and was considered the “official” Sunday morning greeter. Jeff was instrumental in developing and assisting in the construction of the new Sanctuary/Worship Center.After settling his family in Lascassas, he became an enthusiastic and loyal Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Blue Raider fan. He was a major contributor to the Blue Raider Athletic Association and could often be spotted on the sidelines at a basketball, baseball, or football game. Through his passion for golf, he also became very active in the MTSU golf program. The hitting facility at Champions Run Golf Course in Eagleville, TN is named after him.Jeff was an avid fisherman and he traveled all over the world in search of the ultimate prize to mount on his wall. He has brought back trophies from Alaska, Africa, Brazil, South Africa, Canada, Scotland, and Argentina, to name a few. He chaired and sponsored MTSU’s BRAA Shooting for Scholarships Clay Target Shoot for eight years.Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kay Hendrix; three children, Bennie (Kristi) Hendrix, Emily (Lucas) Dearden, and Tim Hendrix; his parents, Rex and Becky Hendrix; parents-in-law, LTC (Ret) Jesse E. and Jane Felter; his brothers, Robert (Donna) Hendrix and Danny (Vickie) Hendrix; sister, Lori (Joey) Paul; four grandchildren, Seth and Clatyn Dearden and Laureli and Colson Hendrix; and three nieces and seven nephews.Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, and Monday, May 16 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Lascassas Baptist Church.Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 17 at 10:00am at Lascassas Baptist Church. Pastors John Tidwell and Don McMurry will officiate. A short graveside service will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Murfreesboro, TN.
