Estelle Compton




Estelle Compton, age 87, passed away January 30, 2014. She was a native of Cannon County but lived most of her life in Rutherford County. Estelle was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and ended her day reading her bible and in prayer. She was a good friend to all that knew her. She was a member of Sharpesville Church of Christ.Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Evelyn Murphy; first husband, Rufus Nile Bogle; brothers, James Paul Murphy and Bob Roy Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Cantrell Compton; daughter, Ann (Harold) Leffler; son, James Nile (Jean) Bogle, stepdaughters, Sheila Schulties and Sharon Gannon; sister, Aldean Sneed; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bogle, Shane Shepard, Josh Shepard and Christopher Boynton; four step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Zach Maino, Molly Maino and Andrew Shepard; seven step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Chapel service will be Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Jennings and Ayers. David Young and James Lively will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130; 615-893-2422.
