Villager Condos shooting

The Murfreesboro Police Department investigates a fatal shooting early Friday at Villager Condos on Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

The victim in a fatal shooting Friday at a condo has been identified as Terrell Edward Ray, 30, of Antioch, the Murfreesboro Police Department said.

Ray was shot multiple times early Friday at Villager Condos on Middle Tennessee Boulevard, the MPD said. Personnel with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department treated Ray on the scene.

The suspect allegedly fled in the victim’s vehicle, which was later recovered, the MPD said. He is still on the run.

“MPD is sad to report the shooting victim has passed away at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital,” MPD spokesman Larry Flowers said Friday.

A neighbor heard several gunshots and later saw the victim on the sidewalk not moving and called police, he said. Police responded around 3:12 a.m. Friday to the complex at 2850 Middle Tennessee Blvd.

“It’s tragic anytime anyone in our city loses their life; that’s why it’s important that we let the detectives do their job and investigate and to find the person who did this and the reason why,” Flowers said.
