Stewarts Creek students pick up national FFA awards

Stewarts Creek High FFA students Karlee Dunn and Harley Huber won the national Plant Systems Research Division IV competition at the 95th National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis.

Each student received $1,050.

The Stewarts Creek FFA chapter represented Tennessee and was named a National 3-Star Chapter — the highest chapter ranking. To achieve this ranking chapters must be in the top 10 percent of chapters at the state level. Only the top 10 percent of chapters in the nation are recognized as a 3-star chapter.

Arianna Mota and Cameron Myers were national runners-up in Environmental Research Division IV; Ella Hasty was sixth in Environmental Research Division V; Harrison Falcofsky had a top-four finish in Agriscience Research- Animal Systems Proficiency; National Runners-Up in the Agriculture Issues LDE: Harley Huber, Karlee Dunn, Ella Hasty, Megan James, Kari Thongkham, Kendall Beard and Trevor Culbertson were national runners-up in the Agriculture Issues Leadership Development Events; Gold Individual: Tyler Moses won a Gold Award and Brett Mann and Brady Lee each won a Silver Award in the Career Development Events; Arianna Mota won a Silver Award in the Floriculture Event; and Harrison Falcofsky and Wyatt Blanks each received an American FFA Degree. Fewer than 1 percent of the organization’s 853,000 members earned the degree.
