The CHOW Bus, the city schools’ program that is feeding kids during the COVID-19 shutdown, needs donations, Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland said.

McFarland posted a call to action Tuesday on his mayoral Facebook page.

“We need your help replenishing the pantry,” McFarland wrote. “This program feeds ALL kids 18 and under twice per day and backpacks for the weekend.”

The preferred way to donate is to go online to cityschools.net and click “accepting donations.” The link will go to The City Schools Foundation’s PayPal account.

Or, McFarland wrote, you may drop off food at Murfreesboro City Schools’ office, 2552 South Church St. Drop the items off at the back loading dock. Food coming from a store may be used immediately, but food coming from your house must be quarantined for one week.
