Freedom Shrine

The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro presented a Freedom Shrine to Murfreesboro’s Salem Elementary School.

The Freedom Shrine is a permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, the Constitution and the Gettysburg Address.

Committee Chair Charlie Pigg gave an educational presentation on the history of the Freedom Shrine and Club President Melissa Blair Wright present Principal Dr. Trey Duke the Freedom Shrine Dedication Plaque.

Thousands of Freedom Shrines have been dedicated throughout the United States and Puerto Rico in universities, libraries, schools, state capitals, city halls and airports.
