Nissan will carry out a phased restart of its U.S. manufacturing operations beginning in early June, with Smyrna opening on June 8, according to a news release from the company.
The company’s vehicle assembly plant in Canton, Miss., and powertrain plant in Decherd, plan to resume production on June 1, followed by its Smyrna vehicle assembly plant on June 8.
The INFINITI Decherd Powertrain Plant resumed limited production on May 1.
Production has been closed since March 20. The company originally said the shutdown would last through April 6, then extended the closure through mid-May.
