MTSU football wide receiver Reginald E. Cobb has been arrested on two charges of rape, police say.

The Murfreesboro Police Department said it served Cobb with a sealed indictment. He is charged with two counts of rape stemming from an alleged incident in 2018, MPD said.

The Rutherford County Grand Jury issued a true bill indictment during their November session. The indictment contained the two counts.

According to the indictment, the alleged incident happened on Sept. 1, 2018.

An arraignment hearing has been set for Nov. 25 before Judge David Bragg, according to Rutherford County Circuit Court records.

Cobb was served with the warrant on Monday, according to the Circuit Court.

Middle Tennessee State University Head Football Coach Rick Stockstill said in a statement, “Zeke is suspended from our team as we allow the legal process to move forward. It is very disappointing and, if substantiated, such actions do not represent or reflect the standards we have worked extremely hard to develop for our program.”

The Blue Raiders roster says Cobb is a redshirt junior from Dalton, Georgia.
