Allen Jackson will be honored at the Chamber’s “Business at Its Best – 2010 Celebration”
The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce has named World Outreach Churchs senior pastor Allen Jackson as the 2009 Business Person of the Year. He will be honored at the Chambers Business at Its Best 2010 Celebration on Friday, Feb. 5, at the Embassy Suites Murfreesboro Hotel and Conference Center. Jackson has worked with the congregation of World Outreach Church since 1981, serving as senior pastor for 20 years. A graduate of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, he has been a part of the Middle Tennessee community since 1968. Under Pastor Jacksons leadership and vision, the World Outreach Church fellowship, which celebrates its 30th year in 2010, has grown from 150 members to more than 6,000. Pastor Allen Jackson is a true business leader, Chamber President Paul Latture said. Its simply amazing how much he has grown the congregation. In a downturn economy, World Outreach Church is continuing to flourish by expanding its facility and adding new jobs. Jackson earned a B.A. from Oral Roberts University, a M.A. in Religious Studies from Vanderbilt University and is completing a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. He also spent a year completing post-graduate studies at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Jackson is an active member of his community, serving on the Board of the International Christian Embassy-Jerusalem American Red Cross and the Community Advisory Board of National Health Corporation Nursing Home. Jackson chaired the Murfreesboro Area Ministerial Association and was named Outstanding Young Minister by the Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of the Leadership Rutherford. Pastor Jackson is a featured speaker at international conferences, most recently International Christian Embassy-Jerusalem Feast of Tabernacles celebration in Jerusalem. Jackson is married, and his wife, Kathy, is an active participant in ministry at WOC. Reservations for the Chambers Business at Its Best celebration are $60 members and $80 non-members.
