Shine up your dancin’ shoes, Uncle Dave Macon Days will return for its 41st year Friday at Cannonsburgh Village in Murfreesboro.

The two-day festival offers up the best in old-time music and dance with national competitions featuring competitors from around the world. Uncle Dave Macon Days starts Friday and continues through Saturday. The perennial favorite “Motorless Parade,” complete with buggies and wagons, will make its way down historic Main Street to Cannonsburgh at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Other family-friendly events slated for the festival include activities for children, delicious concessions, a juried arts and crafts show, Dave Macon’s Marketplace and a historic photo exhibit.

Festival director Ben Wilson described the annual festival as a forward-thinking festival for all ages, providing an opportunity “to stroll through a reconstructed pioneer village with a cold lemonade, listening to the warm harmonies on the porches and under the trees near the banks of Town Creek in Cannonsburgh Village while experiencing the best of roots music on the main stages.”

Uncle Dave Macon Days will spread the love of roots music in a unique way on two stages: Macon Manor and the Dew Drop. On the Macon Manor Stage with the “Concerts After Dark” series, Friday will feature Rhonda Vincent, Flatt Lonesome, Ralph Stanley II and the Hogslop String Band. On Saturday, Rhonda Vincent and The Rage will be live on the Macon Manor Stage with special guests. Later in the evening, The Isaacs, Newtown, Glade City Rounders and The Cleverlys will continue with the best in authentic music. On the Dew Drop Stage, the Dew Drop Jamboree will feature the best in classic country both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Also on Saturday evening, at 5 p.m. on the Macon Manor Stage, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage will celebrate an historic appearance and record release celebration for “Bluegrass Legends Live at the Ryman.” Vincent and the Rage will be joined on stage by Mac Wiseman, Jesse McReynolds and Bobby and Sonny Osborne. All have performed at Uncle Dave Macon Days as Heritage Award winners.
