Turkey Tee Off raises money for Child Advocacy Center

“We were blessed with a warm, sunny day and a great group of golfers on Saturday for the 8th annual Turkey Tee Off,” Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Sharon De Boer said.

The tradition of generosity continued at this year’s tournament held on Nov. 3 with the support of sponsors A & L RV Sales, Anonymous Donor, CRF Properties, Ingram Content Group, Murfreesboro Young Professionals, Save-A-Lot, US Community Credit Union, Waffle House, Waldron Fann and Parsley Attorneys at Law, and Wilson Bank and Trust. 

Golfers were treated to a waffles, bacon, sausage, coffee, and orange juice provided by Waffle House before teeing off at 9 a.m.  After the round, the teams feasted on Slick Pig BBQ while tournament committee member Chase Patterson announced the prize winners. 

The Patterson team of Marshall Lorance, Jason Mansfield, Chase Patterson and Jay Sanders took home first place of $200 with a score of 55. 

The second-place team with a prize of $160 was Birdie Buddies. The golfers were Howard Fuller, Ben Ramirez, Jeff Rigsby and Bob Woodard with a score of 57.

The third-place team with a prize of $100 was the Brooks Golfers. The golfers were Mark Brooks, John Paul Geier, Jordan Holmes and John Morrissey with a score of 58.

The Patterson and the Brooks Golfers Teams generously donated their winnings to the Child Advocacy Center to support services for child abuse victims.

The following people won a frozen turkey from Save-a-Lot for the following contests: Molly Hissons (Longest Drive, Hole No. 5); Kay Stockton (Closest to the Pin, No. 3); Chad Sheppard (Closest to the Pin, No. 14); Sam Slifka (Putting Contest).
