Southern Special Therapeutic And Recreational Riding Students will hold its 12th annual benefit trail ride fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Long C Trails in Westmoreland, Tenn.

The Harry Macomber Memorial “Not So Extreme” Trail Ride is named for Harry Macomber, of Watertown, who won the grand prize four times for collecting the largest amount in donations. Harry succumbed to cancer several months ago.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the ride will begin at 10 a.m. Riders can go through the obstacle course before or after the ride for additional points. The trail is about 10 miles round-trip.

After the ride, participants will enjoy a barbeque lunch and the grand prize winner will be announced. The grand prize this year is an Apple iPAD sponsored by Best Buy of Mt. Juliet.

There will also be a silent auction featuring gifts just in time for Christmas. Each participant will receive a goody bag valued at approximately $20.

Donations need to be turned in the day of the ride to be eligible for the grand prize.

Riders must bring their own mount. Trailer parking is available at the ride site. Proof of Coggins is required. The entry fee is $25 and will be waived for participants who turn in $75 or more in donations. The event will conclude at approximately 2 p.m.
