Lauren Scott, a 12-year-old student at Franklin Road Christian School in Murfreesboro, decided to brighten up her neighborhood while everyone is staying at home because of coronavirus precautions.

She used her sidewalk chalk to give her neighbors some good thoughts and images. Lauren’s mother, Camille, took the photos of the sidewalk art.

Lauren’s father, David Scott, is serving as a Chief Warrant Officer in Iraq with the Tennessee Army National Guard. He wrote in an email about the sidewalk art that "I love the spirit of not only my family during this trying time, but also of the American spirit as we intentionally and by choice find ways of framing the small but beautiful ray of sunshine in the midst of big dark gloomy skies."
