Jessica Sanders, a marine science major from Murfreesboro, was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society for freshmen, on Tuesday, April 3, in the Johnson Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University.
Phi Eta Sigma is a prestigious national honor society that inducts first-year students after they have completed one full semester of college with outstanding academic performance. To be eligible, students must have at least a 3.5 GPA.
The society is chartered on 378 different college campuses across the nation and was founded in 1923. This year's ceremony inducted 135 new members.
