The following places/activities are closed/cancelled or operating on modified schedules due to the coronavirus:
Rutherford County Schools: Schools are closed through April 3.
Murfreesboro City Schools: Schools are closed through April 3. Parent-teacher conferences that had been scheduled for last Friday are instead happening by phone. If in-person meetings are needed, the teacher will provide more details.
Middle Tennessee State University: Spring break, which was last week, has been extended into this week. All classes will be moved to an online format.
MTSU Board of Trustees: The quarterly meeting of committees, scheduled for Tuesday, was moved to a teleconference format.
Judicial system: Access to the new Justice Center has been limited through Tuesday, March 31. Lawyers with jail cases will be admitted and any necessary persons, as determined by the trial judge. The offices can be contacted for resetting court dates or for emergencies. Chancery pleadings may be filed electronically at go.tybera.net/tncis or faxed to 615-691-5964. For Circuit Criminal, Circuit Civil, General Sessions Criminal, General Sessions Civil, and Juvenile’s fax numbers and court costs, inquirers are urged to visit circuitcourtclerk.rutherfordcountytn.gov. Fax filing fees will be waived for the duration of the closure.
All branches in the Rutherford County Library System are closed through Sunday.
Business tangible property taxes: The Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office said that 2020 Business Tangible Personal Property Taxes Schedule B may be paid online instead of visiting their office. Go online to rcpatn.com.
Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Murfreesboro: Visitation has been closed off.
La Vergne Senior Center: Closed until further notice.
La Vergne City Court: Closed for two weeks.
