Taste of Rutherford Picnic Social will be held Saturday, July 18 at Cannonsburgh Village in downtown Murfreesboro. The event is a fundraiser for Main Street Murfreesboro featuring 15 downtown restaurants providing food, drinks and music. A Car Show benefiting Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, 655 W. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro. The 2020 TSSAA Hall of Fame luncheon and induction ceremony has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. Tickets will be made available on the TSSAA.org website.

Resist Murfreesboro’s Back to School Fundraiser will be collecting supplies and donations until Aug. 3 for students in Murfreesboro City Schools. The organization is also working to raise funds to purchase and donate black literature to every school library in the district. TN Achieves is recruiting volunteer mentors to provide a local support system to every TN Promise applicant in the Class of 2021. Mentors work with a small group of three to seven students as they transition from high school to college. Mentors complete a training course in person or online. Habitat for Humanity’s Leave a Legacy Event with Eddie George has been rescheduled for March 18, 2021.The event will celebrate the opening of Legacy Pointe, Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity’s first affordable housing subdivision community in Murfreesboro. Tickets for the dinner and event are still available through Eventbrite.

American Rosie the Riveter Association is trying to locate women who worked on the home front during World War II. The non-profit association would like to acknowledge these women with a certificate and have their stories placed in our archives in Birmingham, Ala.
