Taste of Rutherford Picnic Social will be held Saturday, July 18 at Cannonsburgh Village in downtown Murfreesboro. Resist Murfreesboro’s Back to School Fundraiser will be collecting supplies and donations until Aug. 3 for students in Murfreesboro City Schools. The organization is also working to raise funds to purchase and donate black literature to every school library in the district. TN Achieves is recruiting volunteer mentors to provide a local support system to every TN Promise applicant in the Class of 2021. Mentors work with a small group of three to seven students as they transition from high school to college. Mentors complete a training course in person or online. Habitat for Humanity’s Leave a Legacy Event with Eddie George has been rescheduled for March 18, 2021.The event will celebrate the opening of Legacy Pointe, Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity’s first affordable housing subdivision community in Murfreesboro. American Rosie the Riveter Association is trying to locate women who worked on the home front during World War II.
