Business After Hours sponsored by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Redstone Federal Credit Union, 2404 Medical Center Pkwy. in Murfreesboro. Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Our Place Peer Support Center, 120 S. Hancock St. in Murfreesboro. TVHS officials will discuss eligibility requirements for community care, services and activities for female veterans, and where veterans can get flu shots. There will be an open forum for questions. This event is free and open to all veterans and their families.

“Rutherford Remembered, Snapshots in Time” booklets sponsored by the Captain William Lytle Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution will be available to order through Dec. 6.  The 34-page booklets cost $15 and the proceeds go to the chapter’s community service organizations. Mentors are needed in Rutherford County to support TN Promise applicants from the Class of 2020. Mentors spend one hour a month assisting students as they transition from high school to college. Potential mentors must be 21 years of age, are subject to a background check and complete a one hour training. Murfreesboro City League Youth Basketball registration will be held through Friday, Nov. 15.  Players who are between the ages of 5 and 17 by Dec. 31, 2019, are eligible. Sign-ups are Monday through Friday at: Sports*Com; Patterson Community Center; McFadden Community Center; and Barfield Main Office. Sign-ups will also be available every Saturday in October at Sports*Com. Practice will begin in December and games will start in January. The fee for each player is $75. Fill-A-Truck for Thanksgiving Community Food Drive will be held Friday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Kroger, 2946 S. Church St. in Murfreesboro.
