Christmas Village at Cannonsburgh Village light displays will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday nights (5:30-8:30 p.m.) through Sunday, Dec. 20 at 312 S. Front St. in Murfreesboro. Admission is free. Visitors will remain in their vehicles to view the light displays.

Murfreesboro Art League Exhibit of members’ works of art in the City Hall Rotunda at 111 W. Vine St. will be open through Jan. 7.

16th Annual Toy and Coat Drive For Children is being held through Tuesday, Dec. 15. Coats, toys, nonperishable foods and cash donations (used to purchase coats) can be dropped off at Cash Express, 909 NW Broad St. in Murfreesboro.

Christmas At Oaklands Mansion Tours will be held Dec. 18-19 at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. with admission of $20 for adults and students ages 12 or older and $10 for children ages 6-11. All tickets must be purchased in advance at oaklandsmansion.org. There are a limited number of tickets available for each night. A timeslot for a tour must also be reserved.

Discovery School in Murfreesboro is accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year. Applications are available on the school website, discoveryschoolexplorers.net. Applications will be accepted for students in all grade levels. Students must be 5 years of age by Aug. 15, 2021, to apply to kindergarten. Application deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 8. The Rutherford County Retired Teachers Association is hosting a Pre-Retirement Seminar for employees of any education system on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 4:30-6 p.m. The seminar will be conducted online by Ryan Marlin, Retirement Plan Advisor, Retire ReadyTN. The seminar is for anyone who will retire under the state retirement plan. Check the Rutherford County Retired Teachers Association website www.rcrta.org for updates concerning the seminar after Jan. 14.

Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) shelter is looking for foster volunteers to give care to kittens and puppies outside the shelter, reducing their chances of coming in contact with illnesses or diseases until they are at a healthy state and age to come back to the shelter to be spayed or neutered and placed up for adoption. The Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church Food Pantry, located at 1601 N. Tennessee Blvd. in Murfreesboro, is open to the public every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon.  Due to COVID-19, the food pantry is currently setting up outside on those days.
