Barbecue for Veterans will be held Saturday, July 11 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at VFW Post 8422, 10157 Old Nashville Highway in Smyrna. A barbecue plate from Fat Guy’s Barbecue will be available.

Taste of Rutherford Picnic Social will be held Saturday, July 18 at Cannonsburgh Village in downtown Murfreesboro. The event is a fundraiser for Main Street Murfreesboro featuring 15 downtown restaurants providing food, drinks and music. The 2020 TSSAA Hall of Fame luncheon and induction ceremony has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. Tickets will be made available on the website.

TN Achieves is recruiting volunteer mentors to provide a local support system to every TN Promise applicant in the Class of 2021. Mentors work with a small group of three to seven students as they transition from high school to college. Mentors complete a training course in person or online.
