OHS partners with Red Cross for blood drive

At Oakland High School, The Key Club (sponsored by Alice Brank) and the Red Cross Club organized a blood drive that resulted in 106 good units of blood donations. It is estimated the donated blood will save more than 300 lives. The success of the school’s blood drives is helping students earn scholarships — they are targeting to earn $3,000 worth of scholarships this year. The next OHS blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, May 16. If they are able to reach their goal in May then OHS will be the number one high school in the state of Tennessee for Red Cross blood drives. From the left: OHS Students Joey Clemmer, Ben Massaro, Red Cross representative, and OHS Student Kyle Lennon.
