Murfreesboro boutique Dreamingincolor is now accepting entries for their art competition, a contest for artists in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Young artists are invited to submit work based on the theme "Summer Fun" using paint, drawing materials, collage, sculpture or digital illustration. Each artist has until June 1 to submit one piece by either emailing a digital version to deneen@dreaming-n-color.com, bringing a digital print of the artwork to the shop or posting the work to Instagram and tagging @dreamingincolorblog. Contact information must be provided with the entry.

A panel of judges from the local arts community will select one finalist from each of the six age brackets based on interpretation of theme, technical skill, originality and use of color. Finalists' work will be featured in the shop during a reception at the Boro Art Crawl June 9. Each finalist must be present for the event and will also receive a ribbon.

Any artwork depicting copyrighted images will be rejected. Pieces must be original ideas and created solely by students.

June 1, 2017 is the deadline for entries. Finalists will be contacted by June 5. All chosen artwork must be delivered to Dreamingincolor by June 7.

For more information, email deneen@dreaming-n-color.com.
