The Rutherford County Family YMCA named Jonathan D. Jones its 2010 Volunteer of the Year at an wards luncheon held Thursday, April 14.
Jones was honored as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Celebration.
“Jonathan’s impact on our YMCA has been tremendous,” Rutherford County Y Executive Director Ken Strawbridge said. “He has quickly jumped in and steered the course for our center. He has become a vocal ambassador for us in the community and has helped guide our decisions. Jonathan is leading the charge for the YMCA to become the premier nonprofit organization in Murfreesboro and helping to ensure we are doing cause-driven work and impacting the lives of everyone in our community.”
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee presents annually 26 Volunteer of the Year awards, honoring those who’ve given of their time, talent and financial resources to advance the Y’s charitable mission.
Since the organization’s founding in 1875, dedicated volunteers like Jonathan Jones have worked to strengthen their community by being part of the YMCA.
In 2010, more than 3,900 volunteers joined hands with the Y to help people of all ages and from all walks of life work toward achieving their full potential in spirit, mind and body. |
