Dear Santa,
This is YEAH!, your favorite best little youth arts organization anywhere! We’ve been so good this year—we certainly hope you think so too!—that we wanted to write and give you our Christmas Wish List. It’s getting very close to Christmas, we know you’re coming soon, and there are some things we’re hoping you might be able to bring us! So here’s our Christmas list:

1. We would like to have some digital cameras. They don’t have to be brand new, we would be very happy to have used cameras that others might not want. We could use both still cameras and video cameras so every good little boy and girl in our film and photography classes can have a camera in their hands during their classes.

2. We would like to have some filmmaking equipment. Again, it doesn’t have to be brand new, but some lights, some mics, a boom, anything that would help our filmmaking department teach a professional filmmaking class next January. We hope to have enough equipment to help all our good little boys and girls write, shoot, edit and produce their first 5-minute films.


3. We would also like to have all kinds of art supplies. All the good little boys and girls at YEAH! really like to paint and draw and make paper and screen print, so we need lots of art supplies….acrylic paints, water colors, screen printing paints, drawing paper, pencils, paint brushes and clay….I know, it’s getting to be a long list!

4. And if possible, we would like to have some Christmas donations just so we could do a little shopping for ourselves….the toners for our printer are expensive and we are doing a LOT of printing! We need new software for our computer lab so we can teach more graphic design classes and edit the films we hope to make. We could use the extra Christmas money to buy paper for the printer, paper products and cleaning supplies for the building, and we could even use it to pay the rent and the electricity bills! So if you have any extra cash lying around the toy shop, we would be very happy to have that too, and you may not need it, being Santa Claus and all, but we would give you a tax deductible receipt for a charitable deduction on your taxes, and that might work out great for you if you pay taxes. Most of us here do….pay taxes I mean!

5. And lastly, we would like to have LOTS of new Friends of YEAH! If you could arrange it, could you please tell every mom and dad on your list that you want them to join Friends of YEAH! and make a monthly donation to YEAH! so that we can keep teaching these great classes to their children, teaching them music and acting and writing and painting….we need all the Friends of YEAH! we can get, and all they have to do is go to the website at www.yeahintheboro.org and sign up! We’ll do the rest!

We know it’s kind of a long list, but we hope you know that it’s all for the kids. We’ve got kids who want to learn everything, who want to bang on a drum and paint a picture and play chess and learn to knit. We’ve got kids who want to learn to act and dance and take pictures and shoot film. These kids want to learn how to be artists, how to express themselves through art. And I’d like to remind you that when they’re with us, they are being very good little boys and girls. They are too happy and too busy to get into trouble while they’re at YEAH! so I know they are all on your “Nice” list. So please, Santa, put YEAH! on your delivery route for Christmas Eve and bring us lots of gifts, and encourage every mom and dad to remember to bring us lots of gifts too. We promise, we will put them to good use!
