A series of six Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) classes will be offered at no charge from 6 to 8 p.m. every Thursday beginning Feb. 19 through March 26 in the MTSU Police training room, 1412 East Main St.

The class will be open to all female MTSU students, faculty and staff as well as to the general public. Enrollment is limited, and attendance at all six sessions is mandatory. For more information or to enroll, call MTSU RAD Instructor David Smith at 615-692-2424.

RAD is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training.

The program teaches women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense/martial arts tactics. The class will provide women with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance. RAD is the largest women’s self-defense system in the United States.
