Two women suffered injuries in domestic assaults Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies reported.
Victim Denise Thornton-King of Brown Drive was treated for a swollen and bruised forehead and a sore head at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Deputy Caleb Roney reported.
Thornton-King told Roney she was riding with her son’s father when he wanted to have sex. When she refused, he became irate and responded with a “barrage of punches,” the deputy reported.
She accused him of hitting her hands, the back of her head, forehead and right shoulder before ordering her out of his truck on Interstate 24.
“Denis walked for hours until she was picked up by a passerby” who took her home, Roney reported. Later, she and her mother decided she needed to go to the emergency room for treatment.
A warrant was obtained for the suspect.
In an unrelated case, Cpl. Brian Wright reported victim Alicia Ann Perry of Mantle Way was assaulted by her boyfriend during an argument Tuesday night.
Their 5-year-old and 2-year-old children witnessed the assault where their mother suffered a red mark under her eye.
Because the boyfriend wasn’t home, Wright explained how the victim could obtain arrest warrants.
