A Memorial Day argument with her boyfriend turned into aggravated assault and evading arrest charges for one Murfreesboro woman.

Eugenia M. Williams, 34, of National Drive, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault and evading arrest with a motor vehicle for alleged trying to run over her boyfriend, Jonathon Wells, 30, also of National Drive, and a Murfreesboro Police officer.

According to the police report, the argument allegedly started Monday when Wells told Williams he wanted to go to a Memorial Day cookout and she did not.

Williams allegedly told the victim is he went he could “take all of his things with him,” MPD Sgt. Tim Higgins reported.

Wells began to gather his possessions in the home and Williams allegedly pointed a knife at him and told him to hurry up.

Wells left the apartment and went to his car.

“Ms. Williams struck his 2001 Chevy Impala with her 2006 Buick on his driver’s side,” Higgins reported.

Wells then left and allegedly received a phone call from Williams Tuesday morning asking him to return the key to her apartment. He then returned to the apartment complex.

“When he arrived he began getting out of his car and he noticed Ms. Williams driving toward him at a high rate of speed. Ms. Williams then rammed his car,” Higgins said.

Wells tried to escape, but Williams followed him to a gas station where she allegedly rammed his again. He then drove down South Church Street until he found a police officer, MPD Lt. Jimmy Puckett, parked at Toyota of Murfreesboro.

As he asked Puckett for help, Williams pulled into the car dealer’s parking lot and refused to comply with Puckett’s commands.

“She then accelerated and rammed Mr. Wells’ car again, almost hitting Lt. Puckett in the process,” Higgins said.

Williams then fled in her vehicle and was later found at her apartment.

She was charged and taken to MTMC for treatment. She is scheduled to appear in court June 30.
