A Murfreesboro woman was arrested Thursday after DCS notified Murfreesboro Police that Rachel Henley, 22, had not been properly feeding her young child.

Henley’s three month old was the size of an average two-week old baby. The child was hospitalized at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

According to the CDC, a three-month old child weighs between 9 and 16 pounds. The average two-week old weighs between 5 and 8 pounds.

Henley was charged with aggravated child neglect, reckless endangerment and failure to appear in court. S

he is currently being held under a $105,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 5. The women lives at 1408 Journey Dr. in Murfreesboro. If she is able to make bond, her bond restrictions will not allow her to be around her child.
