Woman accused of striking boyfriend with frying pan

One woman allegedly struck her boyfriend in the face with a frying pan and bit him during an argument over tools Tuesday morning at their home, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

Boyfriend Victor D. Brown, 50, of Major Drive suffered a red mark below his left eye and bled from a small bite wound on his hand, Deputy David Foote reported. Brown accused girlfriend Jennilyn Lynch of striking his face and biting his right hand.

Lynch told Foote she drank earlier. When she and Brown got into an argument, Lynch said he pushed her to the floor and stepped on her chest.

“When she got to her feet, she grabbed the frying pan and hit Mr. Brown with it in self-defense,” Foote reported. “Ms. Lynch stated that after she hit Mr. Brown with the pan, she attempted to call 911 but Mr. Brown tried to take the phone away from her. Ms. Lynch states that she bit Mr. Brown’s hand so that he would let go of the phone.”

She didn’t have any visible injuries but complained of her ribs hurting.

Lynch is on probation for a domestic assault conviction earlier this year. She had two prior domestic assault arrests.

Due to the circumstances, Foote charged Lynch, 49, of Major Drive with domestic assault. She was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing is set Jan. 14.

Are you sure the cops didn't copy this info down from a HEE-HAW episode guide?

Classic Jerry Springer show material.

I hope he's glad she didn't have an iron skillet or else there would have been more than a red mark!

Brown pushed her down and stepped on her chest hard enough to cause pain in her ribs, so she defended herself with a skillet. She then tried to call for help and he took the phone away from her, so she bit him. Why was Brown not charged with assault? Why was she charged for defending herself? Should she have just taken the abuse and hoped that she was able to call for help after he was done with her?

Boo. She's on probation for domestic assault so obviously she's not new to this.

Boo, Maybe he pushed her down in an act of defending himself. If the cops charged a woman then they have pretty good reason or evidence. They have no problem jailing a man for blinking wrong.

Somehow I missed the part about her past record and the article didn't say he was defending himself. Thanks, Farmall and Spring, for the new insight. Sometimes my mouth overides my brain when it comes to domestic violence.

.....so he should do the same thing a woman should do in a home situation like this....leave! I still do not excuse him for hitting a female no matter what her previous record. He has two legs right? He could have walked (or ran) away.

You know why you dont have to buy a woman a watch.........cause their's a clock on the stove. Now go fix my damn dinner.

It's just a joke. I dont really feel this way and please dont tell my wife i said that.

Never ok for a man to hit a woman or a woman to hit a man unless, they are fighting in their weght class and for a belt or something. Just a joke people, don't go off on me! Sound like lovely neighbors though.
