State Rep. Joe Carr (R-Lascassas) and Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney announced  Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will headline this year's T-Bones & Politics fundraiser, held Saturday, Oct. 6.

The event will be at Five Peppers Farm in Murfreesboro.

“At a time in our nation’s history, where we are dealing with a stagnate economy and a crushing national debt, we can all look to the reforms Gov. Walker has enacted in Wisconsin as a roadmap the federal government needs to adopt to put America back onto the path of prosperity,” Carr said.

Walker became a natoinal figure after facing a recall election following significant changes to the collective bargaining process for most public employees in Wisconsin. Opponents of Walker's actions launched a push for a recall election, and received enough support to force an election on June 5.Walker successfully kept his seat as governor after winning the Wisconsin recall election.

“We are very excited to hear about how Gov. Walker is reforming his state and putting Wisconsinites back to work,” said Carr.

"T-Bones and Politics has become an important political event in Tennessee and the announcement of Scott Walker is exciting news,” said Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney.

Past speakers have included Former Bush Chief of Staff Andy Card, Tennessee Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, and Fox News Commentator Dick Morris. Money raised from the event will benefit Tennessee Republican legislative candidates in the 2012 election.
