From the National Weather Service in Nashville:
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening in Middle Tennessee.
An upper disturbance with very cold air is expected to generate scattered snow showers this morning. New snowfall up to one inch is possible mainly north of Interstate 40.
Gusty west winds will cause some blowing and drifting of snow.
Even with the light snow showers, the biggest problem will be the treacherous road conditions with the rapidly falling temperatures and the snow from last night causing icy conditions.
Motorists are urged to use caution with ice on roadways.
