The Boys & Girls Club’s grandest fundraiser of them all, Steak & Burger, has been officially set for Thursday, April 28 with special guest speaker UT Volunteer Football Coach Derek Dooley.
“Its benefits to Club members are remarkably direct. The board and staff work to ensure that overhead costs for the event are minimal by securing donations and table sponsors. This ensures that the highest percentage possible of the funds raised can go to youth,” said Michelle Clifford, BGCRC marketing and special events coordinator.
Each dinner table seats 10, designating two Club members for every eight adults.
At the dinner, eight adults share a table with two Club members and spend the evening getting to know each other.
The adults enjoy a delicious burger with all the fixins’ while the Club members are treated to a steak.
All of the food and preparation will be provided by Toot’s and Ole South Properties.
In addition to direct funding, Steak & Burger also places donors in direct contact with kids, allowing them to see just how valuable their contributions are.
Veteran members anticipate this event all year and the night is talked about for months to come.
It allows members to get to know the caring community members who make their Club experience possible and for donors to witness firsthand the lives impacted by their generosity.
Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Individuals, groups and businesses may also sponsor a table.
Supporting this event means bridging the gap between membership dues and the actual cost of providing a stable, positive environment, caring staff, nutritious snacks and nurturing programming to an ever-increasing number of Rutherford County youth.
“All the proceeds from Steak & Burger go directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County so that we may continue to offer children a safe, welcoming environment in which to build friendships, learn skills and stretch imaginations,” Clifford said. MP |
