William Duane Standley, age 79, of Murfreesboro, formly of Shelbyville, Ill., died Feb. 17, 2013. 

Mr. Standley was the son of the late Mervin Keith and Anna Lee McCoy Standley.  He is also preceded in death by his wife Carol Seymour Standley; son Richard Standley; and brothers Clyde Standley, Bobby Standley, J.B. Standley, and Janice (Speed) Standley.
 
Mr. Standley is survived by his daughters Carla Riley and her husband Todd of Murfreesboro, and Marty Vickers of Colorado; son Carl Standley and his wife Veronica of Boca Raton, Fla.; and grandchildren Ashley, Seth, Brittany, Ethan, Erica, Ryan, Kayla, Sara, Danny, Jesse, Megan, Jennifer and Gina.
 
Mr. Standley joined the Air Force in September 1951. He married the late, Carol Standley on Nov. 28, 1955.  He retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sgt. after 20 years of service in 1972. He enjoyed watching football and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also known for “Standley Appliance” in Shelbyville, that he owned and operated with his brother, Speed.
 
Visitation will be 1:00 until 2:45 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana, IL.  A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday at Rosamond Grove Cemetery in Rosamond, IL.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Standley.
