WENDEL JOSEPH MARSH, age 78, a resident of Murfreesboro, TN died Saturday December 4, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.
Wendel was born at the 5th Avenue Hospital in New York City on May 7, 1932. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ann Chilton, his son James Patrick Marsh, and his parents, Wendel Mischler and Anna Rita Dent Marsh.
He is survived by his loving wife Sara Smith Marsh, sons John Wendel Marsh of Florida and Patrick Bradley Marsh of Hawaii, daughter Kathleen Ann Marsh Conner of California, granddaughter, Meagan Conner; grandsons, James Kevin Conner, James Alexander Marsh, and Graeme Smith Marsh, niece Judy (Charlie) Myatt of Murfreesboro, TN
Wendel was a Revenue Accounting Manager at National Airlines and its successor Pan American World Airways.
At age 15 he enlisted in the 101st Military Police Battalion of the U. S. National Guard. At age 22 he was drafted and served in the 542nd Engineering Company (Topographic Survey) at Fort Winfield Scott, CA and Wheelus Air Base in Tripoli, Libya. Additionally he taught a course in Industrial Relations as an instructor for the University of Maryland at Tripoli, Libya.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the College at New Paltz, NY, a Master of Industrial Relations at Cornell University at Ithaca, NY, and a Master of Business Administration at Nova-Southeastern University at Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
He enjoyed photography, wood working, and auto mechanics. He was a prolific reader on a wide variety of subjects.
