Weekly claims for unemployment up in Tennessee

From MTSU’s Business and Economic Research Center:

In the week ending Oct. 24, seasonally adjusted weekly initial claims for unemployment insurance in Tennessee were 10,494, up from 10,407 in the previous week.

The 4-week moving average declined to 10,502, a slight improvement from the previous week.

Before seasonal adjustment, initial claims rose to 8,270.

Continued claims for unemployment insurance (insured unemployment after seasonal adjustment) are 82,932, down from 83,733 in the previous week.

The four-week moving average declined to 84,764, the lowest level since the week ending Jan. 3, 2009.

Before seasonal adjustment, continued claims dropped slightly to 75,393.
